**I have bus duty this week, so this would not be a good week for anyone to stay after for extra help.  Sorry.

 

Vocab/Spelling words: (all classes)

Cornucopia (noun;  from Latin cornu copiae horn of plenty;1508.  a curved goat's horn overflowing with fruit and ears of grain that is used as a decorative motif emblematic of abundance.  Mayflower

(noun; the ship that carried the Pilgrims from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts) Pilgrims (noun; Middle English, from Anglo-French pelerin, pilegrin; one of the English colonists settling at Plymouth in 1620), Wampanoag Indians (high chief, Massasoit, made a peace treaty with the Pilgrims), Thanksgiving (celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year.)

HOMEWORK ~ (tentatively)

Monday:  write a Thanksgiving story using vocabulary words (1 pg. minimum); be prepared to present yours this week!

Tuesday:  you will have a vocabulary word search to complete

Wednesday/Thursday:  study for quizzes throughout week.  We are going over 5 WODs a day to possibly help us with our test taking. 

The following activities will be going on this week:

Monday:  WOD bingo; persuasive presentations or current event presentations

Tuesday:  WOD Quiz w/words 1-5; using quotation marks correctly; presentations

Wednesday:  WOD Quiz 6-10; more on quotation mark usage

Thursday:  WOD Quiz 11-15; video comprehension on Thanksgiving

Friday:  WOD Quiz 16-20 (turn in ALL WODs you have); Daily Warm Ups Quiz (DWQ #6); Vocab test on Thanksgiving words; 

***I hope everyone has a very safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday!  We are winding down the first half of the school year....wow!

**This is a short week so we will not have vocabulary or daily warm ups to turn in.  Please get any makeup work in to me by Friday.  You are on your own for extra copies of worksheets simply because papers were given out and it is getting too costly to make more copies

 

 

 

 

Monday/Tuesday:  typing up persuasive essays in media center (students were given two weeks to work on this)

Wednesday:  NO SCHOOL

Thursday:  progress reports will be issued.  Parents should sign them and returned to the teachers.
