This Friday we will be making Music Word Walls! This will increase our music vocabulary and help to decorate our band room. :) Have a great week and please let me know if you have any questions regarding your playing tests next week. (davisel@rss.k12.nc.us) -Ms Davis- Concert Band, Recently, I have noticed an increasing number of students in our instrumental music program being irresponsible with the care of their instruments. Instruments have been dropped, damaged, and abused to the point of not being able to play. I've recently informed students that if they drop, are careless with, or severely damage their instrument, the will be required to put the instrument away immediately and will not be able to play it at school until I have had a conversation with their parents about how we can more responsibly care for these expensive investments that either you or the school has purchased so our students can be successful. I hope this new policy will teach each student responsibility and stress the importance of being extremely cautious with their instruments and taking care of them. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding instrument care (davisel@rss.k12.nc.us). Let's work together to protect your expensive investment as well as the sound and progress of our band and your child as an individual musician. -Emily Davis- |
