Welcome to Mrs. White's notes page! Courses for semester two, 2009-10 are as follows: Accounting 2, Block B, Keyboarding 1, Blocks C and D, and Accounting 1, Blocks E and G. Keyboarding 1 notes: EHS EXPECTATION FOR STUDENT LEARNING: In Keyboarding I students will Utilize resources including media, computers, and other technologies. Students will be learning the touch-type method of keyboarding. The entire keyboard should be mastered in approximately 4 weeks. The remainder of the quarter will be spent on speed-building and accuracy through computer program "Cortez-Peters". We will also begin document production and proofreading exercises. It is very important that students and parents or guardian sign and submit the Computer/Network/Internet Letter of Agreement in order to have access to computers throughout the course. Accounting 1: EHS EXPECTATION FOR STUDENT LEARNING: In Accounting I students will Reason effectively, think critically, and solve problems. Students will learn the fundamentals of accounting from starting a business, preparing financial statements, journalizing transactions, completing a worksheet and completing a monthly business cycle in the first quarter. We cover about a chapter a week. Students will be assigned selected problems for both homework and classwork to be completed in their workbooks and a chapter study guide will be assigned immediately preceding any chapter test. Please be sure to check the link for the course listed on this page. A great deal of student study resources are available at the book's companion site. As we will be utilizing the computers to supplement our activities, it is very important that students and parents or guardian sign and submit the Computer/Network/Internet Letter of Agreement in order to have access to computers throughout the course. Accounting 2: EHS EXPECTATION FOR STUDENT LEARNING: In Accounting II students will Reason effectively, think critically, and solve problems. Students will be learning departmentalized accounting through a variety of transactions. Students will prepare financial statements for a departmentalized business,and begin to learn accounting control systems. Chapters take about a week to a week and a half to cover. Students will be assigned selected problems for both homework and classwork to be completed in their workbooks and a chapter study guide will be assigned immediately preceding any chapter test. Business Law: EHS EXPECTATION FOR STUDENT LEARNING: In Business Law students will Reason effectively, think critically, and solve problems. Students will learn the basics of law, starting with understanding ethics and the law, sources of law, and structure of the Courts. We will then proceed to classification of procedural and substantive law, and on to contract law. Finally, students will learn about the law as it pertains to business organizations.
