Welcome to Park's Page!!      GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!

As 2nd semester begins, formulas for area and perimeter will be reviewed to jump start the more complex side of geometry.  After which, surface area and volume of 3-D shapes and how they relate will be taught.

It is imperative students make up work when they are absent and pay attention in class as the work becomes more challenging.  Many more EOG strategies will be taught during the 2nd semester to ensure understanding of the NC Standard Course of Study.  Please let me know if your child needs extra help after school.

PLEASE SEND KLEENEX IF YOU CAN.  WE ARE COMPLETELY OUT.

Math Guidelines:

  1. You will continue to use your 5-subject spiral notebook.
  2. Each day, there will be a warm up.  This should be done in the first 10 minutes of class.  It will be graded on a 4-5 pt scale and by progress reports, you could have a possible 100 points.
  3. Each day, there will be an essential question.  It can be copied and answered in a complete sentence for extra credit.
  4. Notes are given in class depending on the lesson.  Foldables are used very often to replace notes.
  5. Assignments are given periodically.  When we 10 assignments have been given, an open notebook quiz is given to make sure each student has completed assignments and notes.
  6. Assessments will be given after concepts are taught in many ways such as posters, written tests and projects.
  7. Pencils are a must!!  All work should be done in pencil.  Pencils should be sharpened at the beginning of class.  I have no problem with mechanical pencils.  Pens are only used to check work.
  8. Ask questions if you are unsure!  If you need help after school, let me know 1 day in advance.
  9. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the daily folders for your work.  Let me know if you have nothing in the folder.  You will be given 2 days for each day absent to make up the work.
  10. I am here to help!  I want everyone to succeed!

****Students may stay after school for extra help Monday - Thursday until 3:30 with 1 day advance notice.
