Welcome to Park's Page!!      GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!

November 17-25

November 17-21, we will continue solving proportions in relation to similar figures and scale drawings.  A review will be given on Wednesday, 11/19 followed by a Test on Chapter 5 (proportions) Thursday, 11/20.

Friday, 11/21 will begin our study of percents.  On Monday, 11/24 and Tuesday, 11/25, we will complete a Thanksgiving project on Consumer Shopping for Thanksgiving dinner.  Students will explore comparison shopping, compute sales tax, and find the total cost using sale ads.  I will provide the sale ads.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Important November Dates:

November 26-28 - Thanksgiving Break

Math Guidelines:

1.      You need a 5-subject spiral notebook.  The notebook has sections labeled:

a.     Warm-ups

b.     Essential Questions

c.     Notes

d.     Assignments

e.     Last section is extra if needed.

2.      Each day, there will be a warm up.  This should be done in the first 10 minutes of class.  It will be graded on a 20-25 pt scale and by the end of each week, you could have a possible 100 points.

3.     Each day, there will be an essential question.  It is to be copied and answered in a complete sentence.  These will be checked every two weeks.

4.     Notes are given in class depending on the lesson.  Foldables are used very often to replace notes.

5.     Assignments are given periodically.  When 10 assignments have been given, an open notebook quiz is given to make sure each student has completed assignments and notes.

6.     Assessments will be given after concepts are taught in many ways such as posters, written tests and projects.

7.     Pencils are a must!!  All work should be done in pencil.  Pencils should be sharpened at the beginning of class.  I have no problem with mechanical pencils.  Pens are only used to check work.

8.     Ask questions if you are unsure!  If you need help after school, let me know 2 days in advance.

9.     If you are absent, it is your responsibility to check the daily folders for your work.  Let me know if you have nothing in the folder.  You will be given 2 days for each day absent to make up the work.

10.   I am here to help!  I want everyone to succeed!
