8 February 2010 - Homework tonight is to finish up the CT for the Fractions Quiz #1.5, which was started in class today. We will be continuing on with more fractions tomorrow! Have a good night -

5 February 2010 - After correcting last night's homework, students took the regular Friday quiz. It will be graded over the weekend and returned to the students on Monday. There is no homework over the weekend, other than to enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday! Have a great weekend -

4 February 2010 - Homework tonight is Math Journal p 136. Have a great night!

3 February 2010 - We continued working with adding and subtracting mixed numbers today. Homework tonight is Math Journal p135, #5-12. Have a great night!

2 February 2010 - We started working today on changing between mixed numbers and improper fractions as groundwork for adding and subtracting mixed numbers. Homework tonight is a practice page (worksheet) on changing between improper fractions and mixed numbers. Have a great night, and please be sure to turn in Progress Reports (if you are earning 72% or less in math class) by Thursday!

1 February 2010 - Quizzes were passed back, and Chapter 3 test CT's were collected. There will NOT be another CT assigned this week for the Fractions Quiz #1, but if I could get those back with a parent signature tomorrow, that would be great. Also, ALL students were given a progress report today, and should be sharing it with parents tonight. If the student is earning a 72% (C-) or below, I need to get the progress report back, with a parent signature, but Thursday, 4 February. If the student is earning above a 72%, please just keep the progress report for your records. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Students also need to complete page 131 out of their workbooks tonight. Have a great night!

29 January 2010 - The Chapter 3 tests were passed back today (sorry it took me so long to finish grading them!), and CT numbers were read off. Students had a fair amount of time (after the quiz) to work on their CT's, so there shouldn't be too much that needs to be finished up over the weekend, other than reviewing the test and getting a parent signature. CT's for the Chapter 3 test are due on Monday, which is also when the Fractions Quiz #1 will be returned. Have a great weekend!

28 January 2010 - No homework tonight, but we will be having a quiz tomorrow on finding equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and ordering fractions. Perhaps a bit of studying would be a good idea? Have good night!

27 January 2010 - No homework tonight

26 January 2010 - Sorry for not posting yesterday - we were having internet problems here at school, and I was not able to access SchoolNotes. We are continuing into Unit 4, and focusing on fractions. Equivalent fractions were covered yesterday, and we moved into Comparing fractions today. Homework tonight is workbook p128...please make sure you are getting common denominators! Have a great night.

22 January 2010 - Students took the Unit 3 test today. Since many students did not finish during class, ALL students will have the opportunity to finish up and/or check their work on Monday. There is no homework over the weekend, other than to make sure you are ready to quickly finish up your test on Monday. Have a great weekend!

21 January 2010 - We went over the correct answers and discussed the Chapter 3 Review Page today. Homework tonight is to continue to study for the Chapter 3 test, which will be given tomorrow. Have a great night!

20 January 2010 - CT's were collected today, and homework was corrected. The students had a chance to get started on their Unit 3 Review Page, which needs to be finished for homework tonight. This is in preparation for Friday's Unit 3 test. Have a great night!

19 January 2010 - Quizzes were passed back, and CT's were started. CT's need to be finished up for homework tonight, in addition to workbook pages 115-116. Remember to start thinking about this Friday's Chapter 3 test!

15 January 2010 - After correcting last night's homework, students took their regular Friday quiz on In-and-Out Tables and graphing. These quizzes will be graded over the weekend and returned next week. There is no homework over the long, 3-day weekend!

14 January 2010 - Homework tonight is to finish the worksheet from class today (p271-272). We will be taking our weekly quiz tomorrow on In-and-Out tables, as well as graphing the information from these tables. Have a great night!

12 January 2010 - We continued working with In-and-Out tables today, and added graphing to the mix. Homework tonight is to finish workbook pages 100-101. Have a great night!

11 January 2010 - Homework tonight is to complete the CT, and Math Journal page 96 (only problems 1, 3, & 5). We will be finishing up Chapter 3 this week and next week, and will be taking the Chapter 3 test next Friday (22 January). Have a great night!

8 January 2010 - No homework over the weekend, unless you are finishing the quiz at home (it was the student's choice). If you did bring your quiz home, make sure it is completed and ready to hand to me as you come in the door on Monday...otherwise, you will earn a zero! Have a great weekend -

7 January 2010 - More practice adding and subtracting integers! Homework tonight is to finish the Pyramid Math practice page from class today. Have a great night!

6 January 2010 - Today's topic was on Subtracting Integers...ask your students to sing the song we learned today on how to change a subtraction problem into an addition problem! Homework tonight is to finish the "Adding/Subtracting Integers" worksheet, which was started in class today. Have a great night!

5 January 2010 - We worked on adding integers today...a VERY important skill that will be coming back time and time again in math! Homework tonight is to finish the half-page worksheet which we began in class. Subtraction comes tomorrow! Have a great night -

4 January 2010 - WELCOME BACK! I hope that everyone had a great vacation - the only bad part about a 2 week vacation (as I'm sure all the students will agree) is that it was 2 weeks without math class! Homework tonight is to finish up the CT which we began in class today. Have a great night -

17 December 2009 - We continued to review Algebraic Expressions and 2-variable General Patterns and Special Cases today, including the correcting of last night's homework. The only homework for tonight is to study for tomorrow's quiz, which will also be on Algebraic Expressions and 2-variable General Patterns and Special Cases. Have a fantastic night as we prepare of the last school day of 2009 tomorrow!

16 December 2009 - Today was devoted to Algebraic Expressions and 2-variable general patterns and special cases....which will also be the topics for Friday's quiz! Homework tonight is to finish the worksheet from class today (worksheet pages 269-270). Have a great night!

15 December 2009 - Homework tonight is to complete the CT from last week's General Patterns and Special Cases quiz. We will be working more with Algebraic Expressions tomorrow. Have a great night!

11 December 2009 - Today we took our weekly quiz on General Patterns and Special Cases. It will be graded over the weekend and returned next week. There is no homework over the weekend. Have a great two days off!

10 December 2009 - We continued to review General Patterns and Special Cases, which will be the main topic of tomorrow's quiz. Tonight's homework is to complete the "General Patters/Special Cases Practice Sheet" we began in class today. Have a great night!
