June 7th Our Spelling Test will be on Wednesday, June 9th. Poetry Presentations began today and they went well. We will be having a Social Studies Test on Friday. We will review this week. Our Unit VI Test in Reading is also on Friday so please let me know if your child will not be in school. Anyone who will be out must take both Social Studies and Reading on Thursday. May 11, 2010 Sorry about no message yesterday. I forgot to save it and by the time I realized it it was 9:00 pm. Fables are still going great. I am very impressed by the work and effort put forth on this assignment. I also think they enjoyed it even though some of them were nervous at first. Picture money is due. If you haven't returned the pictures or the money, please do so as soon as possible. Also I need to send in the field trip money and get a count for how many chaperones I can take with me. Please send in the money by Friday. If you have decided that your child will not be joining us, please write me a note so we can change the status of the trip. April 26th, Welcome back after a nice relaxing vacation. Hope everyone is ready to work hard as we approach the hardest quarter of the year. We started writing fractions as decimals today. Lesson went well and they all seemed to understand the concept. A good start to the fourth quarter. Also envelopes went home today with the results of the Iowa Tests. Grade level is 50%. I felt as a class they did awesome, especially where this is their first exposure to this test form. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call and I will go over the results with you. April 14th There are still some children who have not selected fables as yet. None of the ones I had interested them so they must now find them on their own in the school library or at the public library. They should be getting ready for the retelling with the characters on sticks and background. Poster board should be about 25" by 18", somewhere in that vicinity. April 5th Hoping everyone had a great Easter. We couldn't have asked for better weather for our mini vacation. We hit the "30" mark so there will be 2 fourth grade classes next year.
