Lee Road Agriculture Program

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Welcome to the Lee Road agriculture department and FFA chapter.  Junior high agricultural education/FFA offers experiential, hands-on activities that junior high students need and enjoy.  FFA offers these students the opportunity to start developing self-discipline, organizational and leadership skills, competitive spirit and a high regard for teamwork.  Through participation in FFA, junior high students also gain a sense of belonging and of being a part of something larger that themselves; increase their opportunity to learn and explore important issues and vast career opportunities related to agriculture; bring enthusiasm and zest for learning to FFA.  Please check your child s notebook for the first sentence.  This is the goal of Lee Road FFA. FFA dues are $20.  Please have your child’s dues paid by October 1st.

The school wide positive behavior plan: 

            1. Walk at all times

            2.  Keep hands and feet to yourself

            3.  If you can not say anything nice then do not say anything

            4.  Be on time and prepared for class.

The classroom rules:

1.      Come to class prepared

2.      Respect yourself and others

3.      Respect school property

4.      Work safely

Please read the above rules and policies with your child so he/she will understand exactly what is expected through out the school year.

Examples of grades in agriculture could be quizzes, test, notebook checks, hands-on activities, and classroom projects.    Your child will not be assigned homework in this elective.  It is not the intent of the Louisiana FFA Association to compete with your child's major disciplines.  This class is an enrichment.
