Class Preparation requires that you bring your book (covered), calculator, writing instrument, and notebook to class everyday. A student will get ½ point if some of these are missing (includes an uncover or poorly covered book) and a full point. These checks are done randomly and from class to class.

Group tasks that you'll work on, such as making predictions solving problems, finding mistakes, etc.  Each group of 2-3 needs to submit just one copy of their work, but group members need to alternate writing the group's response to each task.  Each group member must write their name clearly on the paper.  Group tasks are graded based on the thouroughness of the work shown and is graded out of 3 points. If the answers are gone over in class then the correct answer must be recorded on the group task before you hand in the assignment. Some of the group tasks may come from the textbook, so be sure to bring yours to class.  Approach each group task using the following procedure:

1. Think on your own.         2. Discuss with your group.   3.Record your group's thoughts.

4. Correct work once it has been gone over in class

Determining Quarter Grades

To figure out your grade add up the points that you earned and divide by the max points available that marking period. The letter grade given will be the one according to the school grading policy published in your handbook.
