Week of 5/16-5/20


Monday - Complete Ch 15 Packet/Ch 15 Notes.Senator Speech. Imagine that you are a Senator from the North/South. Write a speech where you accuse the other side of starting the Civil War. Include your position on slavery, and why thr other side caused the compromises to fail. Due Friday.


Tuesday - Ch 15 Review and notes

Wednesday- Ch 16 S1 - The Two Sides. Read and discussion of text. Complete Quiz and Guided Reading. Study Guide for Finals.

Thursday-  Early Years of the War. Read and discussion of section and complete worksheets. Project- Childrens' Story Book on Civil War. Due - 6/1

Friday - Current Events Discussion. A Call for Freedom. Read and discussion of section and complete worksheets.

Childrens' Story Book

Create a Childrens' Storybook of the Civil War using colorful illustrations. Include a Dedication page. You may use your favorite cartoon to tell the story. The following terms, personalities, and events should be included and underlined, bold or highlighted.

Terms: Yankees, Rebels,Border States,Blockade,Draft,Casualties,Emancipation Proclamation,Habeas Corpus,Total War.

Personalities: Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Robert Lee,William Tecumseh Sherman,Ulysses S.Grant,Stonewall Jackson,54th Massachusetts Regiment.

Events:Battle of Bull Run,Battle of Shiloh,Battle of Gettysberg,Battle ofVicksberg, Surrender at Appomatox
