Immaculate Heart of Mary School Library Saint of the Week - St. Blaise. His Feast Day is February 3. Blaise was a doctor who had a busy practice. After a time he found that, although he was a good doctor, he always would ask God to help him if things got a little tricky and he was afraid he couldn't make the person better by himself. He would ask God to guide his hands. Blaise found himself relying more and more on God until he began to think of being a priest. He wouldn't have to stop being a doctor - there are medical missionaries and he could be one of those. So he worked and studied hard and in time he was a priest as well as a doctor and later still became a Bishop. Theme of the Week - Groundhog Day - February 2. The children and I will try to predict if Punxsutawney Phil will or will not see his shadow on Groundhog Day. The younger children will be given a picture to color; the older children will be asked to complete a word search. The children will also listen to a winter poem entitled, "One Snowflake". *Please continue to encourage the children (Pre-K through 3rd Grade) about the 100 Book Challenge! Thank you for your support.
