ATTENTION   OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

                       IS IN FULL SWING IN ALL OF

                       MRS. SAFFORD'S CLASSES.

                       STUFF YOUR SHOEBOX WITH

                       1. fun school supplies ( crayons or

                            colored pencils w/hand-held

                                          sharpener, intricate coloring

                            books, tracing paper, fancy diary,

                            pens, etc...) 

                       2. personal supplies ( good smelling

                           soap bar, toothpaste, comb &

                           brush, deoderant, hair ties/clips,

                            etc...)

                       3. toys that will keep a 10-14 yr. old

                           happy for hours with no batteries

                           or electricity required (ask your

                           parents & grandparents what they

                           loved when they were kids!)

              Please be respectful  of the recipient:

Get things you would be happy to receive yourself!

            REMEMBER THAT ALL YOU GET MUST FIT

                      IN A WRAPPED SHOE BOX!

             WRAP THE BOTTOM OF THE SHOEBOX

                     & THE TOP OF THE SHOEBOX

                                  SEPARATELY

              BECAUSE THE BOXES ARE INSPECTED

                              AT LEAST 4 TIMES

HW due Mon., 11/2/09:  Come to class with theseassignments completed:

                         1. Copy the vocab for Ch 4 into nb.

                         2. Answer the review questions

                             p 147 and p 155.  Answers must

                             be complete sentences using

                             the words/phrases in the ques.

HW due Wed., 11/4/09:  1. Complete answers

                                                (see above, #2)

                                                p 164 & p 181.

                              I will be checking HW in your nb

                              on each day we meet in class 

                              because 1st quarter grades are

                              coming up very soon! 

Test for Ch 3 will be on Thurs., 10/29/09;

study your test-prep notes carefully.

Mon., 10/26/09:  Test corrections (Ch 2) will be

collected.  You will hand in the corrections written

on loose-leaf paper and keep the corrections that

are written on the test paper itself. 

Mon., 10/19/09:  Classwork (finish for hw):  Ch 2 crossword with 20 words filled in and highlighted.

Be sure your answers are in complete sentences

using real nouns, not pronouns.  Thank you.

Read Ch 3 this weekend.  Answer all the RQ (review

                                        questions) by Wed 10/14.

Be prepared to move to Ch 3 this weekend.

Test is Tues or Wed. Tues' guest speaker will come on Thurs.

Tuesday, 10/6/09, was to be test day (Day 4).

     We will have a guest speaker to address you.

     Therefore, Chapter 2 Test will be Thurs.,

     10/8/09 (Day 6).

     PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE VOCAB IN NB.

     BE SURE TO EXPLAIN ALL CONCEPTS MENTIONED

                        IN YOUR NB (NOTEBOOK).

In nb, prepare these 3 lists: (one will be a quiz Friday)

          1.  What 5 things do we learn from the Transfigu-

               ration?  (What do we know that was revealed?)

          2.  4 things revealed to us by the miracles.

          3.  3 things revealed to us as we begin to under-

               stand the Trinity as Immutable .

Due Wed., 9/23:  Ch 2, Sec 3&4, RQ p88&94.

Due  Mon., 9/21:  Ch 2, Sec 1&2, Ans Review Q p66&71.

There are two service/mission projects going on

and you are encouraged to join in the effort:

1.  $$ for Dictionaries  is continuing!

     Last year we collected, ordered, and shipped two

     classroom sets of dictionaries (one for 7/8th grades

     and one set for 4-6th grades) at St. Ann's Native

     American School in South Dakota.  The school still

     needs a classroom set of dictionaries for K-3rd

     grades.  Let's see what we can do for them!

2.  Matt Weisner (OLL grad) went to West Point and

     is now a Lieutenant headed for Iraq.  Matt is asking

     us to help him take school supplies to the people

     he will be serving in Iraq.  Please bring any school

     supplies you have on hand (and don't need!) and/or

     school supplies you buy this weekend (for this

     project) to Mrs Safford's classroom #304 or to the

     main office.

                              in full sentences in your notebook.

Thurs., 9/17/09:  Quiz/ test = Quest on terms given in class

                         and the 3 stages of Gosple development,

                         Tradition, Scripture & God's Attributes.

Due Wed., 9/16: 1. Read Ch 1, sec 5&6. 

                          2. Ans. Review Questions pp 45 &54.

Due Tues., 9/15:  1. Read Ch 1, sec 3 & 4.

                             2. Ans. Review Questions pp 30 & 38.

                             3. Think about “Write or Discuss” p 31.

HW due as you walk into class Monday, 9/14/09:

1. ws #1 completed (answers to review questions

    in Catholic Essentials .   (pp 18 & 26)

2. Read & sign (parent & you) the Excelence Guidelines.
