Week of 05/13/2012

Dear Parents,

This week we are learning the following:

READING:

We are continuing our very last theme, theme 16: Every Drop Counts. Vocabulary words are: fresh, careless, amount, parched, drought, critical. VOCABULARY TEST FRIDAY.

WRITING:

We will be writing poetry.

LANGUAGE & SPELLING

We will practice compound words. Spelling words are football, homework, butterfly, flashlight, rainbow, backyard, landscape, upstairs, weekend, doorbell, newspaper, shoelace, watermelon.

MATH:

We will be reviewing numbers up to 999, rounding, and estimation. Graded homework Tuesday.

SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE:

We will cover water habitats and the food pyramid.

FYI:

Our field trip is May 17^th. Last day of school for students is May 24^thJ. Awards program and field day May 22^nd.  A special thanks to all those parents who sent food and gifts for teachers’ appreciation week. Have a great week!!!
