Tuesday, October 11, 2011

  • October is Bully Prevention Month.  The theme this year is "Take a Stand and Lend a Hand".  Please help us keep bullying out of our school.  We have an essay contest, please stop by Guidance for more details.
  • MathCounts will meet today after school until 4:30.
  • The first Envirothon practice is Wednesday after school until 4:30 in Mrs. DeCresie's room.  If you are competing in Dynamic Planet or Forestry in Science Olympiad, please come to this practice.

  • FBLA/SGA Food Drive begins today and ends November 18.  Students are asked to bring in canned/packaged food items for the Soup Kitchen.  The homeroom that collects the most food items will have a pizza party.  The runner-up will have a doughnut party.
  • October is Bully Prevention Month - Take a Stand, Lend a Hand.  There is an Essay Contest you can enter.  See the download files below for more information.
  • Join CMEppes today at our Away Volleyball match at Wellcome.  Go Lady Bulldogs!
  • Tomorrow we will show President Obama's Back-to-School speech.

  • Congratulations to the Football team on their hard-fought 32-26 win over Ayden/Grifton.  Way to go, Bulldogs!
  • Katie Edwards is this week's McDonald's winner.  Come to the Office and place your order!

  • The Beta Club members will start meeting next week.  7th Graders will meet on Thursdays and 8th Graders will meet on Fridays.  The meetings will be held in the Orchestra Room at 8:05am.

  • Come out and support the Bulldogs today at their home game against Ayden/Grifton.  Tickets are $2.  Go Bulldogs!
  • Teachers, please release all Football players and managers at 3:00pm.
  • No Glee Club rehearsal today.  See you next Thursday.  Stay and enjoy the Football game:-)
  • Thank you to all who ate at McAlister's last night.  We had a good turn-out!
  • Don't forget tomorrow is school picture re-take day.  Those students who were absent, who did not purchase pictures the first time and would like to now, or who purchased pictures and need a retake will have the opportunity to get their picture taken tomorrow.  Full uniforms are required; no exceptions.  Students who did not like their original picture MUST return the entire package to retake a picture for FREE.  All other students who plan to purchase packages must pay the photographer when their portrait is taken tomorrow.
  • Attention Science Olympiad students!  There is a meeting today in Room 110, Mr. Saul's room, for those who have turned in event choices.  It will last from 3:30 to 4:30.  Please have parents pick you up at 4:30.

  • Thank you to all SGA candidates for campaigning in this year's election.  Congratulations to the elected Officers.  All candidates, please remember to remove your campaign posters from the hallways.

  • Attention all 8th Grade students:  All bookbags, hats, and jackets must go in your locker before Homeroom.  They should remain there until the end of the day.
  • Come out and support our Lady Bulldogs in their home Volleyball match against Hope.  The match begins at 4pm and tickets are $2.
  • Envirothon meeting today after school 3:30 - 4:30.
  • Eat at McAlister's Deli tonight between 5-9pm to support PTA's fundraising efforts for this year's school events like Staff Appreciation and Student Recognition.  We need you participation to maximize our revenues from this generous community supporter.  If sales exceed last year's sales from the same date, then we will earn 10% of the profits.  If they don't, we only receive 5%.  So get your friends and family to eat out at McAlister's tonight!

  • Congratulations to our Volleyball team on their win over Farmville yesterday.  Both A and B teams won their match.  Leading servers were Maija McGlone, Khadijah Daniels, and Ajai Brown, and Bianca Lockamy with 5 kills!  Way to go, Lady Bulldogs!
  • MathCount meeting today after school 3:30 -  4:30.
  • Science Olympiad Parent meeting 5:30 in Mr. Sauls' room 110.
  • Correction:  For picture make-ups Friday, regular uniform clothing is required; no special dress-up clothes.

  • The election for SGA Offices is today.
  • Join the Lady Bulldogs at their away Volleyball match today against Farmville, 4pm.  Good luck!
  • There will be a MathCounts meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, after school from 3:30 to 4:30.
  • There will be a Science Olympiad meeting for Parents tomorrow, Tuesday, at 5:30pm in Mr. Sauls' Room 110.  The meeting will last approximately one hour and topics include organization, deadlines, coaching, and Q&A.
  • There will be an Envirothon meeting Wednesday, October 5, after school from 3:30 to 4:30.
  • Wednesday is Spirit Night for Eppes at McAlister's Deli.  Please plan to eat there between 5-9 pm.  Eppes' receives proceeds from all purchases at McAlisters that night.  Spirit Nights are PTA's only fundraisers and we need you participation to meet financial goals.  Show your support and get your family and friends to eat out at McAlister's Wednesday evening.
  • Friday, October 7, is picture retake day.  If you were absent on picture day, didn't buy then or want more, or need a retake, you can get your picture taken Friday.  You can dress up for your picture but you still need to dress appropriately.  Tops cannot be revealing; they must cover you chest, back and midriff.  Bottoms cannot be jean/jean material; they must be above the hipbone and pants cannot be baggy.  Skirt and dresses cannot be shorter than two inches above the knee standing up.  See your Homeroom teacher for an order form.
