WEEK OF 8/10/09

FRI 8/14:PLEASE GO TO www.schoolrack.com FOR UPDATES. I'm in the process of transitioning to that webpage.

THU 8/13: BLOCK 1: SSTUDIES: Daily Geo handed out today. Try and finish at home - optional.  MATH: Block 1 only: SF Textbook: Pg 6. Complete Even numbers only #8-24 on looseleaf. Block 2: HW complete 300 and 400 page in bionic 1,000 Book. Look for patterns, counting by 5s, 10s and so on.

WED 8/12: BLOCK 1 (Homeroom Only): S.STUDIES: HW Due Thu 8/13: Find out the names of:Slidell Mayor, Parish President, Governor, State Representatives, President of the US. MATH: Block 1 only. HW-due Thu 8/13-complete pages 300 and 400 in your Bionic 1,000 Book. Look for patterns and write them on the back of those pages. Block 2 (Mrs. Shay's Homeroom) has no HW.

TUE 8/11:  S. STUDIES:  Weekly SS #1 due Mon 8/17. Students may use internet, encyclopedias, textbooks to find answers. Answers MUST be written in complete sentences utilizing the Clearwood Code of Writing (CCW).  MATH: Block 1 & 2: Review Multiplication tables please. SCIENCE: We will begin with science Safety and move on to Unit E:Physical Science.

MON 8/10: No HW except to practice multiplication tables. We will have a Math Assessment this week to check students Math levels and comprehension. We have finally ironed out some minor glitches in our schedule & will be on a regular schedule tomorrow.  Textbooks will be given out tomorrow as well. Please have book covers ready. If you don't have all your supplies, please get them as soon as possible. Being prepared makes a world of difference.  

FRI 8/7: Block 1: We had a good day today. Both handbooks were read in class & the children are aware of rules and procedures. HOMEWORK FOR PARENTS: Please review all items in blue folder. Fill out the required forms & return them in the blue folder on Mon 8/10. On Mon, we will begin with our schedule in full swing. Please be prepared with supplies and a good attitude! Have a good weekend & see you Mon.

Reminder that Meet & Greet is on Thursday from 5:30-7:30P.M. EXCEPT for my class & Mrs. Federico. Parents, you may come anytime between 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. Hopefully this prior meeting will ease your child's (and yours!) anxiety & fears.

STI will be updated weekly. Please check/monitor your child's grades so there are no surprises. # indicates missed work (not turned in or unexcused absence); * indicates excused grade. This will not affect the grade in any way (excused absence).
