MATH - locating and naming points on a number line, interpreting data in pictographs, bar graphs and line plots, and practicing addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts.

READING - We will be beginning a new story entitled:  Animal Fact/ Animal Fable.  In this story students will be presented with popular beliefs about animals, and they will be asked to determine what is fact and what is fable.   


 

READING SKILLS: identifying facts and non facts, vocabulary, oral reading, comprehension, using prior knowledge to make judgments and decisions, and summarizing story events 


 

ACCELERATED READER QUIZZES WILL BE THIS THURSDAY, MAY 24th






RELIGION -  We will be discussing the life and accomplishments of St. Dominic de Guzman.  We will be discussing how Mary is the perfect role model for all of us to follow.  We will be learning the parts and prayers of the Rosary. 



GRAMMAR SKILLS:  antonyms, compound words, contractions, verb tenses, singular and plural nouns, predicates, subject/verb agreement, similes, using editing marks to fix grammar mistakes, homophones, conjunctions, sequencing events in chronological order, adverbs, adjectives, fixing run on sentences, synonyms, abbreviations, using quotation marks to show conversation


 

HANDWRITING - Capital cursive letters: G, S, L


 



SCIENCE - We will be discussing how certain types of weather changes the land.
