State reports are AWESOME!

Please look for a "Memory Book" that will be in your child's homework folder one day this week.  I am just putting the final touches on them.  Enjoy...it is a reflection of their first grade journey!  No homework this week...just a book in the bag! 

I will be calling each home this week to give you the final update on your child's progress in first grade.  What an amazing year I had with your children.  You are all truly blessed your children are wonderful!  Thank you once again for all of your support and cooperation this year.  Talk to you soon!

  Reading:  This week we will be working on small group instruction. Please remember to have your child read their book in a bag each night.  Remember to visit www.thinkcentral to read decodable readers online. 

Spelling:  No spelling test this week!  We will have a spelling bee on Friday of words we learned this year!

Remember to visit www.spellingcity.com to practice spelling words.

Phonics:  This week the children will review and revisit long vowels, short vowels and all the phonetic rules that we learned this year.

Math: This week we will continue with measurement and work on our math facts to 20.  Please review the "timed tests" that the children will do this week.

Social Studies/Science:  We had fun learning about turtles last week.  This week our Weekly Reader is on "Summer Fun"  We will also learn about "Flag Day"
