Homework: I view homework as that work which is started in class and not completed! I also view it as projects/AR readings needed to be done at home. 

(6) books MUST be tested on by the end of the 9 week grading period! Pay very close attention to the emailed progress reoprts received on Fridays. An empty space will appear in the slot for the grade for the 25 Book Standard until a test has been taken. When a test has been taken, a grade will be put in. In order for a grade to be placed in the slot, a student must make a passing score of 70 on the test. If no test is taken by a specified date, a grade of 0 will be entered.

 

Classwork for Oct. 31- Nov. 1

Students will:

Monday:

1. Complete the Voc. Test for Word List # 10 if needed as well as the Unit Test!

2. Define Word List # 11.

3. Continue/finish going to the board to correct Punctuation.

4. Continue going over Ex. 2 and 3 pgs. 317-319.

5. Complete, on paper, the Oral Ex. pg. 320.

6. Complete Ex. 4, 5, and 6 pgs. 322-325.

Tuesday:

1. Continue working on yesterday's assignments!

Wednesday:

1. Go to the Media Center to check out AR books.

2. Begin going over the exercises.

Thursday:

1. Continue going over the exercises!

Friday:

1. Take the Voc. Test for Word List # 11!

 

 Literature/Reading

ELA8R1- The student reads thoughtfully and purposely, constantly checking for understanding of the author's intent and meaning so that the interpretation is sound/valid.

Grammar

ELA8C1- The student demonstrates and understanding and control of the rules of the English language, realizing that usage involves the appropriate application of conventions and grammar in both written and spoken formats.

ELA8RC3- The student acquires new vocabulary in the content area and uses it correctly.
