Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year.
A few notes to parents: First of all I welcome the fact that you are proactive, and encourage you to monitor your son’s progress via the Power Teacher Gradebook Student Grades are based on the following: >Roughly a 10 page reading assignment every week. >They are assigned a half chapter’s worth of review questions for class work once per week for 10 pts. If they expand on the answers, placing the answer in a broader context, I award them from 1-3 pts extra credit for this also. > Students will have weekly reading assignments and will submit notes on the reading for 10 pts. I will also assign a short writing assignment for 10 pts once per chapter for class work. Initially content determines the grade, but increasingly attention to the rules of grammar will be emphasized. > There will be a Chapter Test, worth 20-25 pts at the end of each chapter, quarterly tests at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters, and midterms and finals ending the 2nd and 4th. The quarterly tests are also worth 20-25 pts, but the midterm and final are factored into their semester grade, which is St. Joe’s policy. > If there are extenuating circumstances I should be aware of, please email me and let me know. If there is one value I am trying to emphasize, it is that they can’t expect to get something for nothing. To the best of my ability I will reward them only for honest effort. Scripture: Chapter 5 Test on Wednesday 12/15. Ecclesiology: Chapter 5 Test on Friday 12/17
