Welcome back to school.  I t has been a pleasure getting to know you.

Each morning the students will write a goal for the day as well as learn a new vocabulary word.  They are doing this while they are eating breakfast.  So far, the students have been managing well.

We will have a vocabulary quiz on Thursday so that the students can remember the words.

Some students have begun reading Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMPH.  The students are in their literature circle groups and for the week of September 12th, they are getting to know the characters in the story.

Another group of students is reading Hoot.  They are working on a story summary for the week of September 12th.

Students should have ONE notebook for Reading.  They may not put more than one subject in a notebook.

Post-it notes are also helpful for taking notes while reading their novels.
