Friday Feb 5:  essay quiz--kids will take until they earn 100%, analyze other students' ABC stories for content, conflicts and accuracy.

Tuesday Feb 16:  essay structure quiz for students who haven't earned 100%, start Mr/Ms SMS essay

Wednesday Feb 17:  library day, SMS essay t-chart

Thursday Feb 18:  vocab word: simile, finish body paragraph t charts

Friday Feb 19:  graphic organizers for SMS essay, work time

Monday March 1:  Chapter 4 of House of the Scorpion, Scorpion question

Tuesday March 2:  List or series introduction for Mr. SMS essay, Scorpion chapter 5

Wednesday March 3:  Scorpion chapter 6, introduce BINGO packet for worktime

Thursday March 4:  (substitute teachers) Scorpion questions about chapters 1-5, read chapters 7 and 8 of Scorpion, keep notes on yellow sheet of important events and conflicts in chapters 7 and 8 (DUE FRIDAY!!)

Friday:  Respect assembly in am, shortened periods, kids wear zombie shirts, essay introductions

Monday March 8:  Scorpion Ch 10, Quotation introduction

Tuesday March 9:  Chapters 11-12 of Scorpion independently, questions to answer, Startling Statement introduction

Wednesday March 10:  library day, peer evaluation of introductions, finish Scorpion questions (HOMEWORK DUE TOMORROW!!!!)

Thursday March 11:  Scorpion questions 6-12 due, begin revising and editing full essay

Friday March 12:  no school, LID day for teachers
