Classroom News:

We are focused on intense review in preparation for EOG retesting.   Students may work on EOG review at home by using Study Island(requires internet access) or seeing me for review passages to take home.

Homework is optional at this point based on EOG review.

Students need to return all materials.

Classroom Wish List:  Urgent need for these items.  Paper Towels, Hand Sanitizer, Tissues, Expo White Board Cleaner, Pencils.

Book Projects are due the 15th of every month.   Remember you must now submit a two page, single spaced summary of your book with your project. Also students have the opportunity to earn extra credit by presenting their projects to the class.  Look below in the files at the bottom of the page for the requirements for the book presentations. Booklists have been given to students to use throughout the year.  Students were given a paper copy of one list, The National Endowment for the Humanities Classic Summer Reading List.  This list contains many books that have stood the test of time.  It is organized for 4th-6th, 7th-8th, and 9th-12th grades.  It is imporant to note that many of the books in the 4th-6th grade list are actually quite challenging and are valuable to older students as they serve the basis for cultural literacy(stories that many people know and refer to in the academic world). Students may only choose from the 9th-12th grade list with teacher and parent approval only.  I also made available a number of other lists containing classics and contemporary literature.  Students of all ability levels should be able to find a book that enriches their education and that they enjoy.   There are plenty of books to choose from in the school library but students may also make use of the public library or other resources to find a book for their project.
