September News! We will soon be changing from Schoolnotes to a different format. Please continue to check in for this information. Math We are implementing a new math program this year, Math Investigations. We are finishing up our study of division. Don't forget your child should know their multiplication tables. Reading Research shows that we improve our reading ability by reading on a consistent basis. Your child should be reading at least 20 minutes a night. Students in my reading class will have a reading activity each week. The due date and the type of activity will be listed in your child's Planner. Reading Counts will be done differently this year. It will be used as an assessment tool only. We want to build a love of reading in all our students. In partnership with the PTO we will have Reading Celebrations planned throughout the year.
SPELLING All the students in my reading class will have spelling or Wordly Wise on a weekly basis. Please check their Planners for more information. We are using the website Spelling City to practice our spelling words. This is the link: http://www.spellingcity.com/Community.html
