  Greetings Dolphin students and parents.  The 2009-2010 school year continues to  scream success. I am excited to provide educational opportunities to your child/children at Southeast Middle School.  In the Language Arts curriculum students are focusing on the following:

1. Writing- Journal Entries (Novels)

2. Daily Warm-ups/sponges (both classes)

3. Grammar-sentence structure Complex and compound sentences

4. Wordskills- Lesson 26 "Changing Times" 

5. Reading/Analyzing various poetry and text.

6. The class is reading the novel"Outsiders" by S.E.  Hinton.

7.  "12 POWERFUL WORDS" - DAILY

8.  SPECIAL NOTE:  READING TUTORING IS NOW PROGRESS EVERY TUESDAY 2:30-3:45   PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THE EOGS  ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!!!!

   In my Social Studies classes students have just completed  chapter three,  which focused on Colonial North Carolina. We have begun chapter four, which places the focus on The American Revolution. Students and parents there will be a quiz on each chapter or section, which should occur every other Friday. Also there will be hands on activity/projects with each chapter or section covered. Students can always view the North Carolina History book online by going to the following website:

  Parents please make certain that you check and sign all planner/agenda information daily.   Parents I also encourage you to make sure that your child/children read at least 30 minutes per night, this will enhance their reading skills.
