Independent Reading

Every quarter each student is required to read four books. I have an extensive classroom library and we will visit the school's media center every other week so students can select books they will like to read.

Reading Logs / Homework

Reading Logs are to be turned in on Monday (or on the first day) of every week. Students must read for thirty minutes and then write a journal of at least thirty words, following the prompts they were given. Logs should be fully and accurately completed and signed by a parent or guardian. (Homework is 10% of students' grade)

Mark My Word and Vocabulary Graphic: Collect one interesting word daily. Create one vocabulary graphic weekly.
