Reading and Spelling for the next four weeks:

(For any sight words that were on a previous week's spelling test, the expectation of the children to spell those words correctly in their writing is high. Please continue to review these three in particular, as they are not spelled as they sound.)

Pronouns (personal and possessive) 2. Identify reasons author gives to support points in a text 3. Decoding two syllable words 4. Identify who is telling the story at various points in a text 5. Use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing 6. Read a MINIMUM of 60 words per minute 7. Use context clues (picture and sentence level) to identify meaning and self correct 8. Spell phonetically correct and spell irregularly spelled words correctly 9. Write informational, explanatory, and opinion pieces with appropriate opening and closing. 10. Spell untaught words correctly pulling from knowledge of blends and digraphs 11. Use affixes to define words Math: 4th 9 Weeks Skills 1. Time to hour and half hour 2. Identify parts and wholes (fractions) 3. Identify name and value of coins 4. Count like coins up to $1.00 5. Compare lengths (longest, shortest, etc.) 6. Measure objects (length, weight, and volume) 7. Graphs AR is in full swing! READ AR BOOKS (AT LEAST 3 A WEEK IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE GOAL!) Please don't forget to wear tennis shoes on Tuesdays and Thursdays Be mindful of car line pick-up and drop-off rules and courtyard pick-up in the afternoons Please adhere to the dress code. Be careful of tardies!!! and early check outs!!! Fry words are a requirement!!! They are part of our report card. Please help your child read these! |
