Fourth Quarter

Week of May 26th, 2009

NO SCHOOL MONDAY!

Math

We will complete Chapter 9 Money. This chapter will include counting and using money. Please continue to review addition and subtraction math facts nightly.

Reading

We will begin Unit 6 Week 5 on Tuesday. The theme this week is Sand Castles.   We will read stories about sand castles. We will review the phonograms /oy/ that we do use at the end of English words and /oi/ that we do not use at the end of English words.   We will combine sentences using conjunctions.  We will use cause and effect skills and summarizing to aid in comprehension .

Science

We will begin our unit on life sciences. This will correspond with our reading lessons.

On Mondays, we will be going out to play tennis with Mrs. FLowers!!!! Please apply sunscreen on your child and make sure they wear tennis shoes!!! 

We will be going to the pool first thing on Wednesday mornings! Please have your child wear his/her bathing suit to school and bring a plastic bag with dry underwear and bottoms to change into after the lesson. You must put sunscreen on your child and provide a towel.
