Week of May 21st-May 25th: Hello Parents! Tomorrow is the day that the children have been anxiously awaiting for months! It's the trip to Green Meadow Farm! We will be boarding the bus around 9:15 and be on our way by 9:30. The children should come to school at the regular time. I will be giving all chaperones a sticker to wear to show that they have already paid. Therefore, please see me tomorrow when you drop off your children. Please take note of the class trip reminders below one more time. Thank you! Class Trip Reminders 1. Dress appropriately for the weather. Sneakers and play clothes are advisable. 2. Lunches should be packed in bags. No lunchboxes, thermoses or glass bottles are permitted. Plastic or cardboard juice packages only. Write names on bags. 3. We would suggest that the children wear long pants since activities include pony rides and hayrides. 4. Souvenirs are not available for purchase. 5. There is no rain date for this trip. If the weather is rainy, please have the children come dressed with raincoats, rain gear, etc. No umbrellas please. * I do have directions available. Please ask me for them in the morning if you need a copy. This week we are continuing our Alphabet Unit. We are only studying the letter "Uu" in class. The children will be working on the sounds that "Uu" makes, what things begin with the letter "Uu," and that "Uu" is our final vowel. In religion, we will continue to talk about our Blessed Mother, Mary, & why May is her special month. We will be reciting the "Hail Mary" every day at the end of school. We will also be discussing how God wants us to listen. In honor of our farm trip, we will be learning about different farm animals and creating a farm book. Finally, we have been watching our new little "friends" carefully. None of our caterpillars has emerged from their cocoons yet, but hopefully they will by the end of the week. This week we will be doing a "Paper Plate Life Cycle of a Butterfly" with different kinds of pasta. *A few reminders: Friday May 25th: No School. Monday May 28th: Memorial Day- No School. Friday, May 25th-"Show and Tell"- No Show & Tell this week. SAVE THE DATE: Tuesday, June 19th is Pre-K Achievement Day at 10:00am in the Lower Church. More information to follow in the weeks to come. *Starting next week: Since there are so many birthdays in July and August, I am going to start to ask you when you want to celebrate your child's birthday in school. If there is a specific day you would like to bring in cupcakes, please let me know.
