Classwork Outline 3rd, 4th and 5th Periods

Jan. 5th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will review inequalities.  Students will complete problems 16-36 from page 16 in the textbook.  We will go over the answers.  We will complete the three safety net problems covering dividing decimals into decimals, muliplying fractions and square roots.  EQ:  What is absolute value?  There will be a notebook check and a vocabulary quiz on Friday.  The words are integer, opposite, additive inverse, absolute value and inequality. 

Jan. 6th:  We will be in the computer lab.  Students will take a star math test.  Students will then log on to GA OAS and take the first benchmark test.  We will then take several algebra tests to gauge there progress in our current unit.

Jan. 7th:  We will be in the computer lab.  We will finish up the OAS test practice.  We will review square roots on study island.

Jan. 8th:  Substitute Plan  Workbook Pages 4, 5, 37, 119, 130, 131, 137, 138, 139

Jan. 11th:  Substitute Plan  Workbook Pages 8, 14, 36, 37, 43, 44, 119, 130, 131, 171, 172, 173, 175, 176

Jan. 12th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will take a vocabulary quiz.  We will begin equations with inequalities.  We will do problems from page 46 in the textbook.  EQ: What is an inequality?

Jan. 13th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will take a notebook check.  We will finish and go over page 46 in the textbook.  We will move on to solving inequalities with multiplication and division. page 602 in the book

Jan. 14th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will work on pgae 602.  We will work on perimeter with inequalities.

Jan. 15th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will finish page 602 and work on two step inequalities.

Jan. 19th:  Sub Plans  Students will work problems from page 606 in the textbook.  Ms. Acosta will reinforce the rules on working inequalities with the students.

Jan. 20th:  We will do and go over the word problems for the warm up.  EQ:  Compare and contrast solving equalities and inequalities.  We will go over problems from Tuesday and work problems 31-36 from page 618.

Jan. 21st:  Sub Plan - Students will complete worksheets reinforcing inequality skills.

Jan. 22nd:  We will do and go over the word problem warm up.  EQ:  Compare and contrast solving equalities and inequalities.  We will work problems from page 612 and go over fraction problems.

Jan. 25th:  We will do and go over the word problem warm-up.  EQ:  Compare and contrast solving equalities and inequalities.  We will go over the problems from page 612 and review for the test.  Students will take the ten question test over inequalities.  We will talk about coordinate planes if time permits.

Jan. 26th:  We will do and go over the word problem warm-up.  We will work on lesson 3-1 from the book.  Students will take notes from the power point.  We practice creating ordered pairs from an equation.  We will make tables.  Students will practice these new skills from page 120 in the book.

Jan. 27th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will review graphing on a coordinate plane.  We will begin talking about and looking at graphs from a power point.

Jan. 28th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will finish the power point on graphs.   We will work problems 1-4 on page 129.  We will begin talking about functions.  We will work problems 1-7 from page 136.

Jan. 29th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will go over the problems from functions and do a vocabulary book.  Quiz on Monday.

Feb. 1st:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will take a quiz over the vocabulary from chapter three sections 1-4.  We will work additonal problems that practice functions.

Feb. 2nd:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will do 15-19 on page 136.  We will go over the homework from last night.  We will work on section 3-5 with a powerpoint.  We will work problems 1-11 from pages 140-141.

Feb. 3rd:  We will take a unit test over chapter 3 and slope on Wednesday Feb. 10th.

Feb. 8th:  We will do and go over the warm-up. We will go over rise over run with a power point over section 12-2.  Students will learn how to calculate slope from a formula.  We will work practice problems from the powerpoint.

Feb. 9th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will reveiw positive, negative, no, and undefined slope from Monday.  Students will practice slope problems from page 635-637 in the book.  We will review for the test.

Feb. 10th:  We will do and go over the warm-up.  We will review for the test.  We will take the test over chapter 3 and slope.  We continue to build on our knowledge of slope and linear equations with section 12-3.
