Classwork Outline 3rd, 4th and 5th Periods
Thursday Oct. 8th: We will go over the warm-up. We will reivew scientific method. Students will practice this. 4th And 5th period will write raps about the steps to help them learn the process of scientific method. 3rd period will take a quiz over the material. I will begin square roots with third period. Friday Oct 9th: We will go over the warm-up. We will take a quiz in 4th and 5th periods over scientific method. We will begin square roots using the textbook. Students will practice the raps writeen the day before. Monday Oct. 12th: We will go over the warm-up. We will do page 118 from the workbook to practice square roots and order of operations. Tuesday Oct. 13th: We will go over the warm-up. We will go over page 118 from the workbook. We will practace additional problems with square roots and order of operations. Wednesday Oct. 14th: We will go over the warm-up. We will conitune to work on square roots. We will go over page 118 and began page 119 in the workbook. Thursday Oct. 15th: We will go over the warm-up. We will play connect four with review sheets with square roots. We will begin going over how to estimate non perfect squares. Friday Oct. 16th: We will go over the warm-up. We will take a notebook check. We will coninue working on estimation with square roots from a power point and workbook page 119. Monday Oct. 19th: Students will have a quiz on Thursday over integers, real numbers, rational numbers, irrational numbers, Density Property, repeating decimal, terminating decimal, square (numeration) , square root and radical symbol. The definitions will come from the book. Students will use the coach book to practice square roots today. We will move on to rational numbers if time permits. Students will be given 15 minutes to finish some projects. Tuesday Oct. 20th: We will go over the warm-up. Students will complete the assessment task over rational and irrational numbers. They will answer the essential question. We will practice more problems with the workbook if time permits. I will collect their homework from last night. Wednesday Oct. 21st: Sub Plan Book Work Pages180, 193, 194, 204 and 205 all problems page 206 prob. 64-79 page 207 1-43 Thrusday Oct. 22nd: We will go over the warm-up. We will play memory to review for the vocabulary quiz. We will take the quiz and review rational/irrational numbers. Monday Oct. 26th: We will go over the warm-up. We will go over page 180 that was completed when I was absent last Wednesday. We will review rational and irrational numbers. Tuesday Oct. 27th: We will go the warm-up. We will go over the homework from last night. We will finish page 193-194 and go over it. This material will be on the unit test. I will introduce the pythagorean Theorem if time permits. Wednesday Oct. 28th: We will go over the warm-up. We will have a notebook check. We will work on reviewing for the unit test with pages 194 and 204 in the book. Thursday Oct. 29th: We will go over the warm-up. 5th Period: We will work on the Pythagorean Theorum. Page 198 in the textbook. 3rd and 4th - sub plan Page 66 and 67 all problems Page 70-71 all problems Page 74-75 all problems Friday Oct. 30th: We will go over the warm-up. 4th Period will have a notebook check. We will go over the pythagorean theorem. Students will complete page 198 in their textbooks. Monday Nov. 2nd: We will go over the warm-up. We will review degrees inside of a triangle. We will do a review sheet covering the pythagorean theorem. Tuesday Nov. 3rd: We will go over the warm-up. We will go over the review sheet. We will work on an additional sheet covering simplfying square roots and order of operations with square roots. Wednesday Nov. 4th: We will go over the warm-up. We will complete a sheet that reviews how to simply expressions. We will go over the sheet. We will review for the test with the end of chapter quiz problems. Thursday Nov. 5th: We will go over the warm-up. We will take the test. Friday Nov. 6th: Sub Plan 15 questions over number sense from the OAS website. Workbook pages 321, 145, 322 and 144 Monday Nov. 9th: We will go over the warm-up. We will learn the distribute song. We will discuss and review the distributive property. We will go over the 15 questions from Friday. We will begin Algrebra strand 1. Tuesday Nov. 10th: We will go over the warm-up. We will take M8A1 pretest. We will review algebraic expressions and the distributive property. We will work page 7 in the workbook. 5th Period will be in the Veterans Day Program but will still be expected to complete the homework assignment. Thursday Nov. 12th: We will go over the warm-up. We will finish page 7 from the workbook. 5th Period will take the pretest and go over the warm-up from Tuesday as well. We will continue with page 8 in the workbook. Friday Nov. 13th: We will go over the warm-up. We will review one step equations. We will work on page 586 in the text and go over it. 5th period will finish up workbook pages because of missing class on Thursday. Monday Nov. 16th: We will go over the warm-up. We will review the distributive property. We will take a quiz over the distributive property except 5th period. 5th period will take the quiz on Tuesday. We will review one step equations and practice them. Tuesday Nov. 17th: We will go over the warm-up. We will have a notebook check. We will move on to two step equations in 3rd and 4th periods. 5th period: Quiz over distributive property and one step equations Wednesday Nov. 18th: We will go over the warm-up.
