Theme 4 is about amazing animals. We will begin our week with a story about a police dog who makes safety fun! Officer Buckle and Gloria learn something very important about friendship in this non fiction story. We will work on drawing conclusions and the r-controlled vowel in words like car, born and store. We will also continue working on nouns and paragraphs. Spelling Words: List A List B smart car party smart farm arm yard yard barn part such barn because hard turn party here farm why park ***** ****** accident such audience because commands turn officer here safety why Math: We will continue working on Geometry this week in math. We're learning about plane shapes and solid figures, congruence and symmetry. We are finished writing math facts but we will continue having 1 minute math fact tests. Now is when your child will need their math facts to study for random facts tests. I sent home a huge bag at the beginning of the year for these math fact cards. Every week they copied more facts and were supposed to bring home the old ones to go in the bag. If you do not have certain facts please let me know.
Weekly Homework: Monday Night: Write each spelling word in sailboat style. Choose ten math facts to write 2 times each. Read and log. Tuesday Night: Choose 7 spelling words to use in a silly story. Choose another ten math facts to write 2 times each. Read and log. Wednesday Night:Write your spelling words 2 times each. Math Worksheet Read and log. Thursday: Study for vocabulary and math facts tests.Read and log. Don't forget the vocabulary word for the week. Friday: Get tests, agenda, and Friday folder signed. Read and log. We're moving right along through 3rd quarter! Please remind your child to follow all school rules. Please try to be at school on time and remember to read every night. Practice makes perfect!!! |
