Students will discuss the importance of firemen and firehouses among communities. We will be talking about topics and finding main ideas. In Language we will discuss common and special nouns. Our spelling words focus on the long a sound spelled with /ai/ or /ay/. Writer's Workshop This week we will talk about how and why authors sometimes stretch out words. We will read 'Mrs. Wishy Washy' to introduce the stretching of words and then write with a given prompt. Social Studies In Social Studies this week, we will work on Weekly Readers about 'Thanking Brave Americans' and 'Good Night' (about animals who hibernate in the winter). Math Topic 4 is a pretty long focus. We should finish it up by the end of the week though. We will work on 4-9 on Tuesday, and finish up with 4-10 on Wednesday. Thursday we will play review games for Topic 4 and then we will test on Friday. ![]() |
