Welcome to Early Childhood Education I and II

Units in Early Childhood Education I follow a sequence designed to teach content and to make a personal connection with each learner.  Unit A focuses on the student's personal and professional preparation.
Unit B tracks the development of children from birth to age twelve, and Unit C introduces methods, techniques, and procedures used in working with children.  Finally, Unit D relates learning from prior units to the field of early childhood education, its history and career opportunities.

We will use North Rowan Elementary School as our internship learning site.  All students have completed the first quarter as interns at the elementary school level.  The program is a wonderful opportunity for students to obtain hands on work experience in this career cluster.

The students will be required to follow the Code of Conduct at all times.  The dress code is conservative!!!

If you need further information, please call me at 704- 636-4420 or e-mail me at mccorksc@rss.k12.nc.us.

Early Childhood II students are preparing to go to Hanford Dole Elementary school. This quarter they will be analyzing early childhood curricula based on developmentally appropriate practices.  They will organize a thematic plan for a lesson and present it to their peers.

The Study Questions can be found on the link below for both classes.  There you will find the objectives and review questions.  Please take time to practice!!!  We will continue our activities in class, but you can use your time wisely.  Remember VoCATS are closer than you think!!!!!
