What we are learning...
We are continuing the Envision Math series . Topic 15 is on Calendar. Look for classwork in your child's folder and feel free to review with your children nightly in order to reinforce those concepts learned in our class.
We will also be learning to recognize, write and articulate the letter Vv and Xx.
Upcoming Events
**The class that has the highest total dollar amount ordered will receive a $25 gift card to Walmart. The class who has the highest percentage of students to order will also receive a $25 gift card to Walmart.
The Physical Education Department at OGP will be participating in the Presidential Fitness Test. We will conduct the test during the next several weeks, starting on Monday, April 5, 2010. Your child will be supervised, but we will need your help. It is very important that children dress appropriately and wear shoes. Please send a water bottle with your child. All children will be required to participate unless they bring a note. We will not individualize students or discuss their scores in front of others. This is meant to measure physical ability – not to embarrass anyone.
Arts Festival April 16 will be our annual Arts Festival. We are focusing on the Japanese culture. If you have any connections to Japan, please let me know.
We are headed into the final nine weeks of kindergarten, and we will be covering a lot of skills that will be getting your child ready for first grade. All the kids need to be practicing all of the following:
sight words - letters (writing, articulating their sounds, recognizing) - numbers 1-20 (writing, recognizing, counting! - number words - color words
