NJHS
(National Junior
Honor Society)
The National Junior Honor Society of Erwin Middle School is an academic and service club into which students in the 7th and 8th grade are inducted. Students who have no more than one B in each grading period and acceptable conduct for three consecutive grading periods are invited by the faculty advisor to apply in April. An acceptable evaluation by the school faculty and administration of each student's personal qualities of character, leadership, and citizenship worthy of a National Junior Honor Society member is also prepared and reviewed by a Faculty Council. The Faculty Council will review the student application and confidential faculty evaluations at a meeting in early May. Students who meet all criteria will be invited to enter the club at an induction in late May. To retain membership, students must maintain acceptable character standards and grades (as mentioned above).
