Can you contribute something towards our "Movie Night" basket for the Denim and Diamonds fundraiser?  Please send your donations to school by Friday, Feb. 10.  We appreciate all of your support in making this basket.

WANTED:  Volunteers to help with our Lenten Retreat!  Please send in the retreat volunteer letter if you can help in any way for our March 8 retreat.  We need lots of parents to help as the students will partake in a Seder Meal.  It is a beautiful day.  I hope you can take this day off from work to be a part of your child's special day.  Return the forms (from last weeks' red Thursday folder) as soon as possible.  Thanks so much.

Week At A Glance (2-13-12)

Reading:  We will read "Ramona and Her Father" on pages 84-103.  The skills covered and reviewed include problem/solution, media/communications, and prefixes.  The quiz is Thursday.

Language Arts:  We will continue our compare/contrast piece.  The students will be comparing and contrasting 2 different animals.  We will go to the Project Lab on Monday to gather research.  Research may also be gathered at home, too.  We will then take our research to create Venn Diagrams.  The first draft will be written in class on Wednesday.  Please see your child's Tuesday folder for an information sheet about this next writing project.

Math:  We will wrap up Chapter 6 with the test on Wednesday.  We will then begin to explore multiplication patterns.  Simple Solutions continues this week, covering Lessons 81-84.  The quiz is Thursday due to the shortened week. 

Spelling:  We will explore words with homophones.  They are found on page 109.  The test is Thursday due to the shortened week.

Social Studies:  We will describe historical times in terms of years, decades, and centuries.  We will also explore how early settlements formed and grew.  We will use time lines to identify time periods.

Religion:  We will test Chapter 14 on Wednesday.  We will then understand what God does for us when we say we are sorry.
