Miss Buquoi's Class

              Week of 4/10/12-4/13/12

Special Olympics are this Friday at JCJC.

We are identifying pictures of environmental print such as restaurants, safety signs, and daily living signs verbally and in sign language. The students counting sets up to 10. We will use the smart table to identify alphabet, numbers, animal homes, weather, and coins. Students will also use Starfall or PBS.org with an adult to assist them with skill development. Daily living skills are something we work on everyday. Skills such as dental hygiene as well as personal hygiene, housekeeping, and cooking are some of the skills we practice daily. We also practice delivering things to other places and using money.  Students will be preparing a shopping list to shop next week.

You will find a daily log in your child's folder that will tell you what we worked on. I am very pleased with the children's progress with daily living skills, so please continue to encourage your child to continue these skills at home as well. Please remember to sign your child's folder daily.

I want to thank each of you for the opportunity to teach your child this year. It continues to be my honor to serve them and to learn from them as much as teaching. You are incredible roll models for them. Please have a safe summer break. I look forward to seeing you next year.

I am available to you should you have questions or comments. Please feel free to send a note or call the office at 477-3577. I will return your call or respond as quickly as possible.

Please make sure that you have sent your child a full set of clean clothes to be kept at school for emergencies.
