Our goal as well as yours is to make sure you have the knowledge and attitude that prepares you for high school - yet another 4 years of excitment! Good Luck Panthers.
Updates:
7th graders: if you want to participate in the end of the year field trip, you will be required to purchase your class t-Shirt! Bring your $15 and pass by Ms. Aguayo’s office to purchase one today!
PARENTS/STUDENTS: Any student who fails a core class (math, language arts, science, or social studies) WILL NEED TO RECOVER the course prior to their promotion to high school. Currently, the only method of course recovery is through Florida Virtual School (online classes taken via www.flvs.net).
- PARENTS / STUDENTS: Please check Pinnacle for your child's grades in EVERY class. here's how:
Parents can access their child's grades by following these steps:
1. Go to https://gradebook.browardschools.com/PIV
2. The user name is the student's ID (This is not the student’s social security number) Please check your child's schedule to find out the correct Student ID number. Add a zero (0) in front of the 6.
3. The Pin Code is the child's date of birth – this will be typed as year, month, and day (four digits for year, two digits for month, and two digits for day) – no spaces, slashes, dashes, or commas) – for example, if the student’s birthday is February 5, 1992, it would be typed in as 19920205.
4. Choose the correct school from the School drop down menu: Somerset Academy Middle, Somerset Academy High, or Somerset Academy Arts Conservatory.
PARENTS / STUDENTS: This is a NO-BULLYING zone! Bully report forms can be found in the Middle/High Administration building.

The following are the middle school requirements to be promoted to the next grade:
In Broward County every student must pass language arts, social studies (with one Career Planning course), science and math during all three years of middle school.
ALL 8th graders must also create and complete an ePEP that must be signed by a parent in order to graduate middle school.
Also, if a student scores a level 1 or 2 on the FCAT, they will be required to take intensive math and/or reading.
If your child is having difficulty in a class or with a specific teacher, please contact the teacher FIRST. If further assistance is needed, contact me and I will set up a conference.
Character Education- Every month students are nominated by their teachers in recognition for displaying a certain trait. All students chosen receive a certificate and one student is awarded with a plaque for each character trait at the end of the school year.
