Grading Rules Classwork 65% Test/Projects 25% Homework 10% I am available on Tuesday afternoon to make up missed work with students who have been absent. If you want your child to stay, you need to make an appointment and send a permission note. You need to come to my classroom and pick your child up by 5:00. Homework: Due every Friday, until further notice. Analyze a news story. Use the newspaper, a news magazine, the nightly news on TV, or a news item on the internet. You must answer who, what, when, where, why, and how. Include the title and author of the story. Tell where you got the story. Newspapers are available in the classroom. It must be world news. 11- 17: Page 207 - "The agricultural Revolution" and "New Tools for Agriculture" create word blocks for both sections. Write a two paragraph summary using the word blocks. 11 - 18: Pages 208 - 209 - Create a word block for the word polder after reading. Then read 210 and create word block for "Enclosure and "Results". Write a three paragraph summary using the three word blocks. 11 - 19: Answer: If the Intercity Express had to travel 400 miles to reach its destination at 120 mph, how long will it take to arrive? Show your work. Read page 212 and complete work block for "Transportation". Read pages 213 - 214 and complete word blocks for "Roads, Canals, Ports" and "Beginnings of Industry". 11 - 20: Read page and complete word block for "Environment Today". Also read pages 216 and 217 and complete word blocks for "Water Pollution" and "Air Pollution". Essential Question: Why was the Agricultural Revolution so important to the economy? 11 - 23: We will be working on a 6th grade inter-grated project "The Giving Tree". Students in social studies will be creating a tree filled with things they are thankful for. |
