![]() Coach Mike Gurley's Teaching Site for SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS!!!! ***2nd Semester Schedule*** 1st period-Civics/Economics (a required EOC course for all sophs) 2nd period-Planning 3rd period-African-American History 4th period-Civics/Economics (a required EOC course for all sophs) ***Expectations*** The Civics/Economics classes will be designed to learn the objectives, ideas, and vocabulary that help each child develop the skills to pass the North Carolina EOC exam. I would hope that each student brings everything they got everyday! Now, that is difficult to do with life's ups and downs but I want a workmanlike attitude and a desire to learn everyday. That will require listening, taking notes, reading, studying, and a respectful attitude. The African-American History will look at the development of the African-American people from their political freedom in 1865 until 2009 when an African-American man was sworn in as the President of the United States. The same skills and attitude will be expected in this class, too. The exam is made and given by me. |
