The exams will be given for the classes taken the first semester on the following dates: January 12, 13, 15 19, and make ups will be on January 20, and 21. Make sure you check with your students to make sure they know when they take their exams and on what date they take them on. Also there will be Saturday School on January 9, 2010. This is where the student must be recommended by their teacher to attend. The purpose for this is to make up days to get them to where they can get a credit for the class they are taking. If any student has missed over 8 days in any class or 8 entire days they need to talk with their teacher about Saturday School. If a student has missed 18 or more days and they haven't been staying with their teacher then there is no way they can make up all those hours in Saturday School. This is the last one for the semester and a schedule of Saturday schools for the second semester will be posted on this website after exams. For more information call Mrs. Dixon or myself to get more information. All student-athletes who think they may want to play in college need to fill out a clearinghouse form which is on line at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net and follow the instructions online. This can be done during their junior or senior year. Also please let Mr. Tenborg in guidance know so he can send off the official transcript to them. Also a list of miniority scholarships has been passed out to all Senior homeroom teachers so that the students will be able to look up certain scholarship information during homeroom. I have two list that they can look at in my office and write them down to look at while they have free time during their lunch period. Please take full advantage of this and hopefully some students will receive a lot of grant money for school without having to get a loan. If you have any questions or concerns please call me at 704-636-4420 ext. 137 or email me at whitema@rss.k12.nc.us. Happy New Year! |
