Hello parents and students.  Welcome to Schoolnotes.com.

My name is Ms. Bonnie Hellams and this is my 2nd year at North Rowan High School.  I am a retired teacher from Charleston, South Carolina, and I am very happy to be here with your student.  I have been cooking for most of my life and love teaching students to cook.  You are welcome to come by and see our room any time.

As the students know, before we start to cook we need to be sure we have an apron and a hair cover at school!

Foods I will be cooking our way through the food groups.  We will start with Quick Breads & muffins in about 2 weeks.  Each week we will cook at least once and add more items until we can prepare a full meal.

Foods II will be experimenting with yeast breads and learning the ServSafe way to run a restaurant.  We will move on to cakes and frostings and will be learning some cake decorating tips from Ms. Hellams who has more than 30 years of experience decorating cakes.
