Mr. Butler's 8th grade social studies classes are studying the "causes and effects" of The Great Depression Era. Students are investigating significant historic topics such as The Stock Market Crash of 1929, the New Deal, and economic effects of World War II, to evaluate a variety of political transformations during the 1900's. Therefore, students will be able to research and present several "Great Depression" projects for an overall Chapter Nine test grade. In Chapter Ten, students will be studying how the Civil Rights Movement had an enormous negative impact on many African Americans living in the South. Additionally, students will be able to gain a clear understanding of why significant people like, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Rosa Parks, played a historic role during this specific time era. In conclusion, all students will be able to learn and analyze the causes and effects of the Civil Rights Movement.
