October came in nipping at our toes. Snow in the mountains, furnaces ignited, and the return of coats to our morning routine.
October 5th marks the start of Fire Prevention Week, concluding with our favorite fireman's (Mr. Fox) appearance on Friday. October 9: Please mark on your calendars that costumes for the Saints Parade may be obtained from 12:30-1:00 on Friday. Snooze, you lose! The week of October 16th will be Columbus Week, with a "yummy" baking activity on Friday. Hurray for Pizza! Please start collecting signs of fall and complete Uncle Buckle Activity for Oct. 20th. We will be studying leaves and seeds, so a variety is encouraged! Mark Oct. 22 and 23 for parent-teacher conferences. A special visitor on Oct. 22nd (Officer Lenny) will visit the 1st Grade and his important presentation will empower our students. October 26, Monsignor Mannion will be visiting the students in the morning, so please be on time. October 30th is our Saints Parade and Reception, with our program presented at St. Thomas Moor on Sunday (note will be sent home). Blessings Always, 1st Grade Teachers |
