Sight Word Activity Choices
(Choose one for each night)
If you choose an activity that does not require paper and pencil, please list the number of the activity in the journal.
Use pipe cleaners to form your words.
See how many times you can write your words in one minute.
Look for your words in the newspaper or a magazine and cut them out.
Use your favorite snack to shape your words and then eat them.
Use colored chalk to write your words on the sidewalk.
Use play dough and word mats to form your sight words.
Word Repeating: Write each word of the week 3 times each.Put shaving cream on a mat or table and write your words in it.
Spell your sight words out loud while clapping the letters.
Fold a sheet of paper in fourths. Write your words one time in each square and decorate the squares with art supplies.
Use index cards to write your words, then trace them with glue and sprinkle glitter, sand, or an art supply of your choice (ex. beans or pasta) on them.
Use cooked spaghetti to form your words.
Write your words onto yellow sticky notes and place them in different rooms around your house. Run from room to room reading each sight word.
Have your Mom or Dad write your words on your back and see if you can figure out which word they are writing.
Typeyour sight words on the computer.
