Happy New Year to all our Bennet Academy families. 2012 is sure to be a music filled adventure. Our wonderful PTA is funding a trip for Team Parks to The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in February. We will see and hear the Hartford Symphony Orchestra perform. Their program under the direction of new Conductor Kuan, is entitled \"Symphonius Science\". It is sure to be entertaining and informative.

Our students will also experience four small ensembles from the Hartford Symphony right at Bennet Academy. The Woodwind Quartet, The Woodwind Quintet, The String Ensemble, and The Jazz Ensemble will provide four separate small ensemble performances for groups of 150 Bennet Academy students. Seeing and hearing these world class performers up close will be an amazing experience.

In May, our entire school will go to the Belding Theatre, the small intimate concert hall at the Bushnell. This theatre is know for its state of the art acoustics. The Hartford Symphony will perform a 90 minute concert with a question and answer segment with Conductor Kuan. Thank you to all of the hard working PTA members and Bennet Academy families for participating in our fundraising efforts.

Good Morning Bennet Academy Musicians. Instrumental lessons begin this week. Students will leave one of ther music classes for their lessons. Meanwhile back in class students are exploring the features of our MIE keyboard labs. Partners will assist in keeping everyone up to date on those features so that the real music learning can continue uninterrupted. Your Band, Orchestra, and Chorus teachers are very excited to begin ensemble rehearsals next week. Let me know what you think!
