Welcome to the Sciences Humaines 8-19 homework page.Units have come to an end and exam review booklets have been handed out. I hope you've started studying. We will be going through the booklets in class but if you need any extra help please come see me at lunch or after school for tutoring. I will be available every day with the exception of Thursday June 10th, (away all day for ELA exam marking) and Friday June 11th after school(away for professional development). Happy studying! June 8, 2010 With our Greece unit coming to an end (and the year for that matter) please come prepared for Monday June 7th test on Greece. You will need to study the three booklets provided as well as the Seven Wonders of Ancient Greece. (May 28, 2010) Please see attached below the answer key for Mesopotamian characters and places. (Feb. 26, 2010) This is a reminder that you have been asked to bring 3$ to class in order to participate in the cuneriforme clay tablet project. Please do so before Thursday February 24th as failing to contribute will result in having to complete the project on paper. (Feb 23, 2010) Our unit on Mesopotamia is coming to an end. The culminating project of a Wanted poster for an important Mesopotamian character is due on Wednesday Febuary 24th. Students have already had 2 periods in the lab to complete this project and the rubric can be found in their Mesopotamia booklet. Pre-history projects have been handed back and I have asked students to hand them back to me. Some students will be required to complete an individual research project to make up for their current grade. These students parents will be notified in the next couple of school days. (Febuary 18th, 2010) Reminder that your Early Man project are due in class on Jan. 12, regardless of whether or not your group is present. If you will be away at camp you are expected to submit the project prior to your departure. It is particularly important that you submit your groups handouts, failure to do so will result in an absence of information in your project and will be reflected as such in your mark. (Jan 9, 2010) Don't forget that your prehistory research project is due the week of January 6th, you will have some time to assemble the final product in class but at this point your should have already completed your plan, research and rubric and you are expected to produce the visual representation on your own during the break. Don't forget that each member of the team must hand in a Note de Recherche sheet for the research they have done and your group must prepare a handout for the presentation. You may use the sheet Prise de note for this task. Happy Holidays and enjoy your break! (Dec 17, 2009) We are currently working on a research project on Prehistory and Early Man, we will be completing our last research periode next week and you will then be responsible for completing the visual representation component of the project on your own. Presentations will take place in the week after Winter Break so that you have time to develop your movies, powerpoints, dioramas, stop motion animations etc with your groups. (Dec. 4, 2009) As you all know report card season is upon us. Please make sure you have handed in all of your assignments. I will be holding homework make up sessions which you are expected to attend if you have any outstanding assignments. In the intrest of your academic success please make yourselves available. (November 18, 2009) 10 Marques de Civilisation Assignemnt is due on Tuesday November 16th. Please remember that you must complete one of the three proposed assignments. This assignment was assigned on Tuesday November 10th. (November 15, 2009) Montre et raconte ( Show and tell) presentations will take place on Friday November 6th. Please note that introduction, development and conclusion are an important part of the evaluation of this presentation so please be prepared. (November 3, 2009) Reminder: Tuesday is presentation day for your "Ligne du Temps". The presentation component is worth 15% of your grade so please be prepared. (October 9th, 2009) _________________________________________________________ To date you should have handed in your personal definition of history, as well as your magazine cover or " Ma Marque sur l'Histoire" Due on Tuesday October 13 is the "Ligne du temps" remember that you must include 25 personal events and 25 world history events dating from 1900 to 2009.
