Welcome parents and students to 6th Grade Gifted Language Arts.
To get automatic notices when schoolnotes is updated, please add your name and e-mail address. Simply click on the "Click Here" to add my name, and add your name and e-mail.
Remember, www.freewebs.com/dyarbroughla is available for you to find worksheets, rubrics and information that have been lost or misplaced. Click on the link above to access freewebs. This information is NOT available here at schoolnotes.
As a note, if you ask a question or for clarification and do not get a response from me within two days, please re-submit your question. From time-to-time I do not receive e-mails from this site. If you would like to make sure I receive your e-mail, you can e-mail me directly at yarbroughd1@duvalschools.org. Please, also, make sure to be specific in your inquiry. If you are asking about an assignment posted on snapgrades, please be specific. There are several assignments that have similar names. I will be able to respond more accurately if I know what I need to look at to answer your question(s).
PARENTS: PLEAST NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO E-MAIL ME, YOU MUST HAVE THE CORRECT E-MAIL ADDRESS. I HAVE POSTED IT SEVERAL PLACES, PLUS E-MAILED IT FROM ONCOURSE, PLUS TOLD YOUR STUDENTS. YOU MUST INCLUDE A 1 AT THE END OF MY ADDRESS OR I WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR E-MAIL. THE FULL ADDRESS IS YARBROUGHD1@DUVALSCHOOLS.ORG. PLEASE NOTE THIS AS MS. DOROTHY YARBROUGH IS GETTING FAIRLY TIRED OF FORWARDING MY E-MAIL MESSAGES, AND EVEN WHEN SHE DOES FORWARD, I DO NOT ALWAYS RECEIVE THEM IN A TIMELY FASHION.
THANKS!
Important note - parents, you seeing your child do work does not always equate to your child turning in work. I cannot grade, or assign a grade for, something I have not seen and/or received.
Mrs. Yarbrough

ON COURSE:
Just as a note, if you get an e-mail from NO REPLY.COM, do not delete it! This is a message from your child's teacher(s) coming from ON COURSE. So far, this is the only way teachers are able to send you updated progress on your child's grades.
Also, if a grade is posted as "No Grade" it means that the grade has just not been posted yet. It will show as a zero if it has not been turned in.
Thanks!

Scholastic Book Orders:
**The new flyers were made available for student pick-up on Wednesday, April 6**
This year I will be sending home Scholastic book flyers periodically. It is not a requirement that any student purchase books from Scholastic. However, I do like to make it available for those who would like to do so. When ordering from Scholastic, you can either order the conventional way by sending in the order form with cash or check (made payable to JWJ), or online through www.scholastic.com/bookclubs. This year, Scholastic has changed their online ordering process. If you choose to order online, you will need to create a username and password. When prompted, enter the class activation code of GT6ZT. I know in the past that online orders were not charged to credit cards until the class order was placed. I assume that is the same as I haven't seen anything to the contrary.
If you have any questions regarding the Scholastic book clubs or ordering, please contact me at any time at yarbroughd1@duvalschools.org. Online order is now available as of 4/6/10. Fliers went home as well.
Current flyer deadline - Cash or check deadline is Friday, April 29. Online ordering deadline is Monday, May 2. (Online ordering is open longer because I must wait for the purchase order to go through before I can send the order.)
