FYI: If you want to volunteer!!!!

As many of you know, the volunteer application is online and volunteers are able to apply once again. 

 

I wanted to send out a quick email to let you know of the most common errors that are occurring when someone is attempting to apply and it doesn’t go through.

 

1)      Please make sure they have typed the birthdate in the correct format:  ex. 02/03/1980.  (Many people are not putting the zeros or not putting the 19 in front of the last two numbers in the year.)

2)      We have corrected the application to not ask for the additional 4 digits of the zip code. 

3)      We have corrected the example on the phone number showing that a 1 should not be placed in front of the area code.

 

Before referring applicants to me, please visit with them to be sure they are not having these issues.  Thank you for your help.

 

If volunteers get their application in within by Thursday, they will be processed by Tuesday of next week.  If a volunteer applies after Thursday, it may take up to the 3 weeks before they appear on the approved list. 

 

Please make sure you are referring to the new approved list when approving volunteers.  There are several volunteers that may have been previously approved, but have not been approved for this school year.  If someone’s name does not appear on the list, then please refer them to me.  It does not mean they have a criminal record.  It may be an issue with the application.

  

This week we will work on....

* Language Arts: Journeying,Phonics,Poetry reading, Writer's Workshop

*Social Studies: Me/My community

* Math: Numbers to 12/relationships

* Science: Scientific Method/tools/5 Senses

 

Homework:

* Address, phone #, and Birthday...know them to recite them :)... Due 9/4

* Reading 15 minutes a night.

 

* Handwriting will begin next week..out on Monday back the following Monday! :)
