Homework Thank you for the parent support for all homework assignments. Please establish a homework routine and have a quiet area at home with all the necessary materials, i.e., pencil, eraser, crayons, scissors, etc. The goal is to make your child's homework an independent project, however your child may need some assistance from time to time. Third Grade students have their similiar homework packet due on Friday.
READING LOGS Reading logs are attached to each weekly homework. The purpose of the reading log is to inspire recreational reading and increase skills and interest in language arts. Please include all types of reading material in your tally. Students are encouraged to add to their reading log list each week. The pages that are read will be tabulated each month so please help your child add the total for each week. The class with the most pages will earn a prize at the end of the year. (Mr. Myers' class won that prize in previous years!)
CLASS RULES 1. Treat others as you want to be treated.
FIELD TRIPS Educational field trips are part of the school curriculum to support the learning modalities of our classroom. We feel students can learn even more by going outside the classroom into their community to discover and explore the many opportunities available in the greater Sacramento area. Parent drivers are needed for most of the field trips. Some of the field trips we've gone on in past years are: Apple Hill, Crocker Art Museum, B Street Theatre, River City Theatre Company, Junior League Show, Railroad Museum, Eagle Theatre, Sacramento Mineral Society's Gem Show, McKinley Library, Gibson Ranch, Funderland, Glenn Hall Park, CSUS Arboretum "tree hunt", Canine Campanions, Fox 40 Studios, Kaiser Hospital, Mr. Douglas' Model Trains, Explorit Science Center, Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Fire Department, Bel Air grand tour, and Glen Hall Park.
Sincerely, Mr. Myers |
