Welcome to Mrs. Day's "toad-ally" awesome class!
Wow! Can you believe that we are already in the 2nd nine weeks of the school year? We are making a lot of progress but need to continue to stay focused and motivated. Reading - We are currently working on fluency, comprehension, and decoding using Reading A to Z books in small groups. When these books are sent home, please practice with your child and return the next day in his folder. I am also sending home Dolch sight word practice packets. Each week, your child will be assessed on the list. Practice each night! Our goal is for all students to have 5 lists mastered by November. If students achieve this goal, we will have a party :) Please make sure to listen to your child read his AR book - We have set personal goals and will have an AR party if we meet our goal! Our whole group instruction focuses on compare and contrast. We will be reading The Little Red Hen and The Three Little Pigs. Our vocabulary words for this unit are:
