Kindergarten is WILD about learning! Welcome to Ms.Stamper's Kindergarten Class! The school year is in full swing and I am looking forward to an exciting year together with lots of learning!
A Few Reminders: 1. Sign your child's agenda every night. 2. Read daily! 3. Please look for notes about upcoming events in your child's agenda. 4. This week you will receive a homework calendar for the whole month of January. You will continue to receive homework calendars until the end of the year. 5. Please continue to practice the high frequency words.
HOMEWORK: Feb.12-16 Mon.- Write your spelling words 5 times each. Tues.- Write your spelling words in ABC order. Letter Bag Ff. Wed.- Write your spelling words in sentences. Remember to underline your words! Thurs.- Complete your math pages. Study your words! Spelling Words- of, they, or, if THIS WEEK IN CLASS: This week in phonics begin learning how to recognize and name the alphabet. We will be learning about the letter Ff and what sound this letter makes. In math we will be reviewing 2D and 3D shapes, sorting, patterns, and measurement. We will continue to work on numbers. In social studies we will be learning about the past vs the present. In language arts we will be working on book and print awareness, characters, setting, main idea, problem and solution, comparing and contrasting, as well as sequencing. We will be using 4 different versions of the story Stone Soup. In Science we will continue with weather, the seasons, and our 5 senses. Our themes this month are Groundhog's Day, Valentine's Day, Stone Soup, Presidents, Black History.
